The Land Development Agency (LDA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Reloop launching an innovative pilot initiative that supports sustainable living by bringing practical, accessible solutions directly into communities.
Rolling out across three LDA locations, including Barnwell Point, Shanganagh Castle Estate and Parkside, this initiative is designed to make sustainable living more accessible to residents. By introducing a lending library alongside reuse and recycle collection services, tenants will have opportunities to share resources, reduce waste, and actively participate in circular economy practices in their everyday lives.
This initiative supports the LDA’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and aligns with the key pillars of its Sustainable Development Strategy. Through collaboration with Reloop, the LDA aims to create meaningful local impact. This will help communities reduce consumption, extend the lifecycle of everyday items, and minimise environmental impact.

Supporting Sustainable Living through Circular Economy Practices
At the core of this initiative is a focus on circular economy principles, a key driver of sustainable living in Ireland. Rather than disposing of items that are no longer needed, residents are encouraged to reuse, share, and redistribute them within their community.
This approach supports sustainability by:
- Reducing household waste
- Extending the lifespan of clothing, technology, and household items
- Encouraging responsible consumption
- Supporting community sharing and collaboration
By embedding circular economy practices into everyday life, the LDA is helping to build more sustainable and resilient communities across Ireland.
The pilot programme has been designed to make sustainable living simple, practical, and accessible for all participating tenants.
