Phase 1 completion and lodgement of two planning applications on Clongriffin Wider Lands
Project Description
Construction works are underway at Clongriffin Town/ Cluain Ghrífín to build 408 high-quality, A-rated one, two and three-bed apartments in north Dublin.
The homes are being delivered as part of the initial phase of the planned Clongriffin Town/ Cluain Ghrífín development, which is the largest state housing project currently planned and will ultimately involve a new community of more than 2,000 homes.
Landscaped courtyard gardens, a roof terrace, a 1,433 square metre public park and a creche will be delivered, while community and cultural spaces will be provided on the ground floors of both apartment blocks.
Market street will be fully pedestrianised and has been designed to host a market and potentially community and cultural events.
The development is located beside the Clongriffin train station, and the area is served by a 24-hour bus route, as well as the M1 and the M50.
Development Stage
Walls Construction have been appointed as the main contractor for the initial stage of the development.
The first 408 homes on these lands will be developed across two apartment blocks on land the Land Development Agency (LDA) acquired in December 2023. Planning permission was already in place for these blocks when it was purchased by the LDA.
The Agency sought and was given approval for a revised planning application involving a broadly identical development, but taking new objectives and policies outlined in the Dublin City Development Plan 2022-2028 into account.
Public information sessions were held in July 2024 as well as a briefing event for local councillors.
