Project Description
Shanganagh Castle Estate was the first project to be backed by the Land Development Agency, which was established by the Government to unlock State land for new homes and improve the supply of affordable housing throughout Ireland.
At Shanganagh Castle Estate the LDA will deliver 597 homes in collaboration with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, the first partnership of its kind.
The 51 affordable purchase houses, which include 21 two-bed and 30 three-bed homes were launched in September 2024. The 195 cost rental apartments and 35 social homes will be available later this year.
The remaining 316 homes, all of which are apartments, will be delivered in two subsequent phases in 2025.
The N11 and M50 roads are nearby while the location is also well-served by existing public transport. There are regular buses running past the estate as well as the nearby Shankill DART station to and from the city centre.
