Investors in Diversity

The Land Development Agency (LDA) has been awarded the Bronze Investor in Diversity Certification from the Irish Centre for Diversity. This award represents the first of three levels, recognising how the LDA has built strong foundations for embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within its culture and working environment despite being a relatively young organisation.

This award reaffirms the LDA’s commitment to create a diverse and inclusive work environment, by providing a safe and supportive space where employees can express themselves freely, feel valued and engage in open discussions. The award is also a step forward for the LDA to progress further on its FREDIE™ journey – Fairness, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement.

Building an Inclusive Workplace

From joining the LDA and throughout their journey with the organisation, every employee is provided with the tools and support needed to succeed in their role and reach their full potential.

The Human Resources team, the LDA’s leadership, and the wider organisation continuously review ways of working and company policies to ensure they align with legislation and reflect the LDA’s commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

The LDA applies industry standards and best practices across all areas of work, helping to foster a supportive and inclusive workplace environment.

Achieving Bronze Accreditation with the Irish Centre for Diversity marks an important milestone in the LDA’s EDI journey, with the organisation continuing to build on this progress through its EDI Strategy roadmap to 2028 and its commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive organisation.

EDI Initiatives in Action

The LDA's Leadership team participates in inclusive leadership training delivered by the Irish Centre for Diversity. This training strengthens their understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, while reinforcing the LDA's ongoing commitment to embedding these principles across the organisation.

All employees complete the Dignity and Respect training module, developed in collaboration with The HR Suite. This initiative supports our commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture, free from bullying and harassment, where every employee feels safe and empowered to be themselves.

Our HR team participation in the Leading Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programme also strengthens their knowledge, equipped them with the tools to support the organisation. The team continues to explore future initiatives to further embed EDI across the business.

In 2025, the LDA launched LDA Communities, a series of employee resource groups (ERG) designed to foster an inclusive and conscious workplace. The Wellbeing Community is centred on two pillars, mental and physical wellbeing. The community promotes a safe, inclusive and healthy working environment, and fosters connection among employees through a range of initiatives.

As part of the Community, the Agency participated in Movember. This international initiative focuses on raising awareness of men’s mental health. Throughout the month, a range of activities supported awareness, and reinforced the importance of men's health and wellbeing across the organisation.

As part of our Gender Balance Community, the organisation launched its Women in Leadership initiative

This initiative’s priority is to create a space for women to connect and exchange experiences, while also building pathways for future female leaders. It aims to ensure they are supported equitably and have the same opportunities for success as their male colleagues.

You can find out more about the progress made in strengthening gender balance at the Agency from four members of the leadership team here. They share insights into how the LDA is fostering inclusive leadership, supporting career development at every stage, and building a workplace culture where everyone can contribute.
